How to help

The WOLF forest protection movement has been protecting natural forests in Central Europe for thirty years. We purchase endangered natural forests and establish private, hands-off reserves within them; we expose theft and illegal activities in the forests; through direct actions on the ground, we halt the logging of what remains of Slovakia’s most beautiful forests; we publish books and flyers, and organize international conferences, lectures, and educational field trips in the forests for activists.

WOLF is registered in the list of recipients who can be transferred a share of the tax paid, which means that you can also transfer a part of your tax to us each year.

How we have used the funds provided so far

In the years 2002 - 2005, you donated a total of €39,969.40 to us, which we used to save a 160-hectare fir-beech forest in the Suchá dolina National Nature Reserve in TANAP. This forest should have already been cut down, but it was saved by the funds you donated, which made it possible to lease it for forty years.

By setting up a standing order with the bank where you hold your account, you can contribute to WOLF’s activities through a regular monthly payment. The value of the symbolic banknote you will receive from us—which is also the minimum monthly payment amount—is 77 Forest Crowns (LK), equivalent to €2.97 (or 77 CZK when paying to a Czech account).

How to proceed:

In addition to a direct financial contribution, you can also support us by purchasing and sending the equipment and supplies we need for our work.
 

In 1998, we received a precious gift from a man who did not want his forest in the Strážovské vrchy Mountains to be turned into money. In 2004, we designated this beautiful beech forest as the Rysia Nature Reserve, and for over 14 years now, nature alone has reigned undisturbed there.

A supporting member is an interested person aged 15 and older who wants to support the activities of the VLK and pays a membership fee. If you want to become a member, please fill out the membership application and transfer the membership fee. We will be happy to send you the membership application, or you can fill it out online using this form.

Membership fee: from € 10 per year

A regular member can become a member of the VLK over 18 years of age, who has been a supporting member for at least a year, has paid membership fees regularly, is accepted into an existing tribe and approved by the Council of Elders.

An interesting option to support us is to create a so-called donation appeal. It can be, for example, on the occasion of your birthday and the goal is that your loved ones, friends or colleagues at work can contribute to something that will please you - to save forests instead of an unnecessary gift.
